16. The length and breadth of a rectangular field are in the ratio 7:5. If the perimeter of the field
is 720 m, find the:
(a) Length of the rectangle.
(b) Breadth of the rectangle.​

Answer:

Let the ratio of length and breadth be 7x : 5x

Perimeter = 720m

2 ( l + b ) = 720

=> l + b = 720/2

=> 7x + 5x = 360

=> 12x = 360

=> x = 360/12

= 30

Now,

a) length = 7x = 7×30 = 210 m

b) breadth = 5x = 5×30 = 150 m
