Of the total runs made by the Indian team during a cricket match, Sachin scored 44% and Dhoni scored 39%. If Sachin scored 30 runs more than Dhoni, find (i) the score of the Indian team (ii) the runs scored by Sachin.

percentage score of Sachin = 44%

percentage score of Dhoni = 39%

number of runs Sachin scored  more than Dhoni = 30

To find:

1. score of the Indian team
2. the runs scored by Sachin

Solution:

let us take the total number of the score of the Indian team as 'x'

score of Sachin = $\frac{44x}{100}$

score of Dhoni = $\frac{39x}{100}$

score of Sachin - score of Dhoni = 30

$\frac{44x}{100}$ - $\frac{39x}{100}$ = 30

$\frac{44x - 39x}{100}$ = 30

5x = 3000

x = 600

now,

score of sachin = $\frac{44x}{100}$

                           = $\frac{44}{100}$ × 600

                           = 264

therefore, the total score of the Indian team = 600 runs.

              runs scored bySachinn = 264 runs.
