Basically, insects helps in long-distance pollination of flowering plants.
● Use of insects to flowering plants -
- For reproduction, plants produce ovule & pollen separately.
- But in order to fertilize, these pollen have to be transported to ovules of respective plants.
- Insects when sit on the flowers, pollen stick to them and when they sit on another flower these pollen fall off to combine with ovule.
- Therefore, insects greatly help in reproduction of plants.
