8 men and 12 boys can finish a piece of work in 10 days while 6 men and 8 boys can finish it in 14 days find the time taken by one man alone and thereby one boy alone to finish their work​

So, 8 men take 8/x days to complete the work.

Also, 6 men take 6/x days to complete the work.

Again,

No. Of boys required to finish the work in one day =y

So, 1 boy takes 1/y days to complete the work.

So, 12 boys take 12/y days to complete the work.

Also, 8 boys take 8/y days to complete the work.

By problem,

8/x + 12/y =10

6/x + 8/y =14

Let 1/x=a and 1/y= b

So, the equations become,

8a+12b=10 --------i)

6a+8b=14 --------ii)
