Juliet makes this remark in complete frustration. She had put the 'For Sale' sign at the gate a month ago. The sign did not attract many buyers. The few who came to inquire, found the price to be quite high. Juliet had expected customers would come in crowds fighting to buy her villa, but nothing of the sort happened. She started growing panicky as to whether anyone would buy it or not. Her maid further aggravated her worry by commenting about the continuing bad business trends. So all these situation made her say that she wanted to sell her villa, even at hundred thousand francs if necessary.
