2) Over the years, the family structure changed considerably. Divorce, remarriages, cohabitation is pretty much growing in number. Single-parent households are rising with a drop in fertility rates. It’s not that there is only a change in the number of children but the family dynamics have changed as well.
3) At one time there was the notion that children were mainly influenced by their mothers, with the reason being that mothers were the primary caregivers and had the most contact time with children. However, there is more to family life than how mothers and children get along. Researchers began to include fathers in their observations, although still not to the extent that they relied on direct observation of mother and child.
