Old age homes are institutions that can aid the people in their old age but never guarantee a happy life. The idea of old age homes was alien to us as India has been the proud country which followed the joint family system, where elderly were treated with great regard and respect. They were considered the root of a family. Th witness children depriving their parents of the basic right to stay with them in the old age is disheartening. They constitute as an inseparable part of the family and shouldn't be sent to old age homes even in the worst case scenario. People of old age are not a burden but a treasure to be cherished and preserved.
