Johnsy was suffering from pneumonia  and she had no will to live. She thought that when the leaf of the plant shed ,she would die. Old behrman was a great painter. He wanted to make masterpiece . He understood the problem with Johnsy. He painted a plant which had a last leaf. This plant exactly looks  like the real plant . Johnsy looked at the window that the last leaf was survived . This gave the confiedence and will to live and she started to heal from pneumonia.soOld behrman not only painted a masterpiece but also saved a life .
