if old ratio A:B =3:1 and new ratio A:B:C=3:2:2
then sacrificing ratio-
A= 3/7-3/4= -9/28 (sacrifice)
B=2/7-1/4=1/28 (gain)
C= 2/7=8/28 (gain)

To calculate Sacrificing ratio:-

Old ratio- New ratio

  = old \: ratio = 3 : 1 \\ new \: ratio = 3 : 2 : 2 \\ sacrificing \: ratio \: of \: first \: partner =  \\  =  \frac{3}{4}   -  \frac{3}{7}  =  \frac{21 - 12}{24}  =  \frac{9}{24}  =  \frac{3}{8}  \\ Sacrificing \: ratio \: of \: second \: partner  =  \\   =   \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{2}{7}  =  \frac{8 - 7}{24}  =  \frac{1}{24}  =  \frac{1}{8}  \\ so \: sacrificing \: ratio \: is \: 3 :1 \\ ie \: old \: ratio \: and \: sacrificing \: ratio \: is \: equal

hope this helps..
