Answer:

3m + 2n = 4 ; 2m + 4n = 12

3m + 2n = 4 -----(i)

so,

2n = 4 -3m

2m + 4n = 12 ----- (ii)

Substitute the value of n in eqn (ii)

2m +2 ( 4- 3m) = 12

2m + 8 - 6m = 12

2m - 6m = 12 -8

-4m = 4

m = 4/-4

m = -1

substitute this value of m in equation (i)

3m + 2n = 4

3 (-1) +2n = 4

-3 +2n = 4

2n = 4 +3

2n = 7

n = 7/2
