On 1st April 2020 a bill of Rs 50000 drawn for 4 month on Rajesh by Urmila. On 4th may Urmila discounted bill with bank @ 8% p.a. Calculate amount received by Urmila after discount.

discount on bill= 50000×3/12×8/100 = 1000

hence amount recd by urmila = 50000-1000= 49000

Explanation:

the bill was for 4 months and urmila got it discounted after a period of one month, hence discounting charges will be levied only for remaining 3 months
