Correct Question:-

on a 120 km track a train travels first 30 km at uniform speed of 30 km/hr. How fast must train travel the next 90 km so as to average 60 km/hr for entire trip?

Solution:-

Total Distance= 120km

First 30km in a speed of 30km/h

that is time taken= 30÷30=1 hour

Also given the train must acquire an average of 60 km/h after the entire trip

120÷60=2 hours

so 2 hours is the time for entire trip

But covered only 30 from 120

then 120-30

90 yet to be covered

also the train passed an hour

that is only 1 hour is remaining

  • Therefore the train must travel at a speed of 90km/h in the next hour,to acquire an average speed of 60km/h

hope it helps
