On a 120km track, a train travels the first 30 km at a uniform speed of 30km/hr. How fast must the train travel the next 90 km so as to have 90 km/h as average speed

Total distance travelled =120 km
Time taken by the train to cover 30km = 30km / 30km/hr
ie, t1= 1 hr
Average speed = total distance / total time
90km/hr = 120 /1+x
1+x = 120/90
x = 4/3 -1
x = 1/3
V2 = 90÷ 1/3
= 270km/hr
