Step-by-step explanation:

2:17=absent:present

let absent student =2x

let present student =17x

total students=34

so,

2x+17x=34

19x=34

x=34/19

putting the value of x =2×34/19

17x=17×34/19 =30

total students -present students =absent student

34-30=4

so,absent students are four
