On a certain planet a body of mass 100 kg is projected downwards at 5 m/s from a height of 10 m. If it hits the ground at 10 m/s , find the body's weight on that planet

m = 100kg

u = 5m/s

v = 10m/s

h = S = 10m

v² = u² + 2gS     where, g is the acceleration due to gravity on the planet

10² = 5² + 2*g*10

100 - 25 = 20g

20g = 75

g = 75/20 = 25/4 = 6.25m/s²

Therefore,

weight of the body on the planet = mg = 100*6.25 = 625N
