then the no. of boys are 40-x

According to question

2(40-x)=3×x

=>80-2x=3x

=>80=3x+2x

=>5x=80

=>x=80÷5

Hence, x=16

So,the no. of girls =x=16

No. of boys =40-x=40-16=24
