We know,

In the morning it rained for 2.25 hrs

In the evening it rained for 3.6 hrs

∴ Altogether, that day it rained for

= 2.25 + 3.6

= 5.85 hrs

= 5 hr 51 minutes  

Thus, that day it rained for → 5 hrs 51 minutes.
