Answer:

So first, we need to find out how much is 20% of 80 students.

But incase you’re new to percentage, I’ll give you an insight.

So 100% = total number. That means 80 students is 100%.

How do we calculate 20% of the total students ? To do that, we must multiply the number of total students with the percent, and then divide it by 100.

So, 80 x20 = 1600, divided by 100 = 16.

So 20% of 80 is 16 students.

This isn’t over yet, since the question asks how many students are present. To find out how many students are present, we must reduce the total number of students by 20%.

Total number of students = 80 students

The 20% = 16 students

So 80–16 = 64 students.

64 students are present at class, while 16 students are absent.

Topic :-

Percentage

Given :-

On a day out of 90 students in VII class 20 were absent for online classes.

To Find :-

Percentage of

  • Absent Students

  • Present Students

for the class.

Solution :-

Total students = 90

Number of absent students = 20

Note : If 20 students are absent it means all students except those 20 students are present.

Number of present students = 90 - 20

Number of present students = 70

Now,

Percentage of students absent,

( Absent Students / Total Students ) × 100

( 20 / 90 ) × 100

0.2222 × 100

22.22 %

Percentage of students present,

( Present Students / Total Students ) × 100

( 70 / 90 ) × 100

0.7777 × 100

77.77 %

Answer :-

So, 22.22 % students are absent and 77.77 % students are present on that day.
