On a library shelf, 150 books each of thickness 3cm can be stacked. If books each
of thickness 2cm are to be stacked in the same shelf, how many such books can be
stacked.

Solution:-
This is the case of inverse proportion because if the thickness of the books is reduced then more books can be stacked on the library shelf.
So, according to the question.
 

Books                 Thickness
  150                         3 cm
    x                           2 cm

150 : x :: 2 :
150 × 3 = 2 × x
2x = 450
x = 450/2
x = 225
So, 225 books of thickness 2 cm can be stacked on the same library shelf.
