First we need to convert 15 km in cm to form the ratio.

1 km=100000 cm

∴15 km=15×100000=1500000 cm

The ratio will became 5:1500000

=

1500000

=

300000

by reducing.

Ratio is 1:300000

Answer:

5 cm = 600 km

Now the towns are shown 20 cm apart so now - 20/5× 600 = 4×600 = 2400 km

Hence the distance between two towns will be 2400 km.
