The minimum distance will be the LCM of 40, 42 and 45 cm.

40 = 2³ x 5

42 = 2 x 3 x 7

45 = 3² x 5

LCM ( 40, 45, 42 ) = 2³ x 3² x 5 x 7 = 2520 cm.

∴ Minimum distance each should walk = 2520 cm.
