given data...

consider 30, 36, 40 as numbers and split Their factors..

when u get their factors .....just find HCF...

u will get HCF as 2 ...that's Ua answer...i.e the distance covered..

Answer:

The minimum distance each should walk is 360 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the three person's steps measure 30 cm ,36 cm and 40 cm respectively.

Hence, the minimum distance each should walk  so that each can cover the same distance in complete step. = L.C.M. of 30 ,36, 40

The factors of 30 = 2 × 3 × 5

The factors of 36 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

The factors of 40 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 5

L.C.M. (30, 36, 40) = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5 = 360

Thus, the minimum distance each should walk = 360 cm
