On a night at the beach, which would you expect to cool faster: the ocean water or the beach sand?

the land would obviously cool faster since during the day the water has absorbed a lot of heat but does not become hot due to its high specific heat capacity and by the night it heats up. On the other hand land heats up and cools down faster..
