Solution:

On a number line co-ordinates of points P and Q are 4 and – 5,

d(P , Q)  =  4  - (-5)  

= 4 + 5

= 9

d(P , Q) = 9

On a number line co-ordinates of points P and Q are 4 and – 5 then d(P, Q).​  = 9
