On a number line, what is the length of the line-segment joining, (i) 1/2 and -1/2 (ii) 1/2 and 2½ (iii) -1/2 and -2½ ( I had asked this question several times but no one gives me a meaningful solution, no one helps me,)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The easiest way to find the length of a line segment is to subtract the given two points. Length can never be negative, so take the mode of that difference.

Example:

In case of 1/2 and -1/2, length of line segment will be | 1/2 - (-1/2) | = | 1/2 + 1/2 | = 1

So length of the line segment joining 1/2 and -1/2 is 1

Similarly

2.) Length of line segment joining 1/2 and 2 1/2 is | 2 1/2 - 1/2 | = 2

3.) I hope similarly you can get the third one and it’s answer will be 2

I hope this will help you. You can ask me if you do not get this right. I’ll be here for help
