Let Total no. of students be " X "

A/ Q : -

15 % Students were Absent

i.e X of 15 % = X × 15 / 100 = X × 0.15

or , 0.15 X

Since ,

Total no. of Students

= Absent Students + Present Students

So ,

0.15 X + 34 = X

=> 34 = X - 0.15 X

=> 34 = X ( 1 - 0.15 )

=> 34 = X × 0.85

Therefore ,

X = 34 / 0.85

X = 40
