It originated from Gangotri Glacier of Gaumukh In Uttarakhand.

Then it flows towards Haridwar in the south direction. - Allahabad in Uttarpradesh.

It enters in Bihar in eastern direction.

Finally in Murshidabad in West Bengal it divided it course. One part of Ganga flows towards south with the name of Bhagirathi River in West Bengal ,

another part flows towards eastern direction with the name of Padma River in Bangladesh.

Padma River has a tributary which is Brahmaputra.

After that Padma river flows towards Bay of Bengal. The ending point is Bay Of Bengal of both Bhagirathi River and Padma River.

all the cities mentioned are responsible for pollution of river ganga!
