100 - 94 = 6%

6% of the students were absent.

174 students were absent.

.

Find 1 %:

6% = 174

1% = 29

.

Find 100% (Total strength):

100% = 29 x 100 = 2900

.

Answer: There were 2900 students in the school.

Greetings..!

Let the total no of students be valued as 100%.

Then, 94% of it are present.

SO,(100-94) = 6 % of them are absent .

No of students who were absent  = 174

So, we can say , 6% equals to 174

So, 1 % equals to 174/6 = 29

And 100% equals to = 29*100 = 2900

Answer : Hence, total strentgh is 2900
