Given that 94 percent of students were present on a rainy day.

So,100-94 = 6 percent of them were absent.

We also know the number of students absent ( 174 ).

Let 'x' be the total number of students.

6x/100=174.
3x/50=174.
3x=50(174).
3x=8700.
x=8700/3.
x=2900.

94*2900/100=2726.

Therefore, 2726 students were present on the rainy day and the total strength is 2900.

Greetings..!

Let the total no of students be valued as 100%.

Then, 94% of it are present.

SO,(100-94) = 6 % of them are absent .

No of students who were absent  = 174

So, we can say , 6% equals to 174

So, 1 % equals to 174/6 = 29

And 100% equals to = 29*100 = 2900

Answer : Hence, total strentgh is 2900
