let the number of students be x and price of the board be y
as each student pays 10 rupees so price will be 10x =y (1)
case 2
if 3 students are increased they have to pay 2 rupees less.
(x+3)(10-2)
this will also be equal to the cost of the board
(x+3)(10-2)=y
(x+3)8=y (2)
from (1) and (2)
10x=(x+3)8
10x= 8x +24
2x=24
x= 12
no. of students is 12.
Verification- 10x = 120 (x=12) and (x+3)8 =120 (x=12)
Hence verified.. Hope this helps :)
