ǟռֆաɛʀ :

From fig 1

30 - fs = 30a

From fig 2

Fs = Nu

= (5g) (0.4)

= 20 N

So 20 = 5ab

=> ab = 4 m/s2

and friction = 20 N between blocks

Given:

  • On a smooth horizontal surface a block A of mass 10kg is kept
  • On this block a second block B of mass 5kg is kept
  • The coefficient of friction between the two blocks is 0.4
  • A horizontal force of 30N is applied on the lower block

According to the given data,

  • (\sf\purple{Refer \ the \ image \ for \ diagram})

To Find:

  • Force of friction between the blocks

We have,

  • \rm M_{1} = 10kg
  • \rm M_{2} = 5kg
  • \rm F = 30N
  • \rm g = 10m/sec^2

Now, By using force of friction formula

\implies\:\:{\boxed{\rm{Force\: of\:friction\:=\:\dfrac{M_{2}F}{M_{1}+M_{2}}}}}

\implies\:\:\rm Force\: of\:friction\:=\:\dfrac{5\times 40}{10+5}

\implies\:\:\rm Force\: of\:friction\:=\:\dfrac{150}{15}

\implies\:\:\rm Force\: of\:friction\:=\:10N

\therefore\:\rm Force\:of\:friction\:between\:the\:blocks\:is\:10N
