Given : a spinner of numbers 2,1,1,2,3,1,2,3

To find : probability of getting odd number , getting 2

Solution:

Spinner having   numbers 2,1,1,2,3,1,2,3

n(s) = 8

n(1) = 3

n(2) = 3

n(3) = 2

odd number  1 & 3

probability of getting odd number  = (n(1) + n(3))/ n(S)  = (3 + 2) /8 = 5/8

probability of getting 2 =  n(2)/n(s)  = 3/8

chance of landing on 3  = n(3)/n(S) = 2/8

chance of landing on 3  is less than  chance of landing on 2

probability of odd number  2 was removed from the wheel

then n(S) = 8 - 3 = 5

n(1) + n(3)  = 3 + 2 = 5

Probability = 5/5 = 1

we add numbers 5 and 7 to the wheel.

n(S) = 8 + 2 = 10

n(odd numbers) = 5 + 1  + 1 = 7

Probability = 7/10

if odd numbers 5 & 7 added after removing 2

then probability of odd numbers = 7/7  = 1
