On a square track of edge length 100 m, an athlete starts from one corner and reaches diagonally opposite corner. Find the distance and the displacement of the athlete

Distance covered = 100+100 = 200m
Displacement = root(100^2+100^2) [Pythagoras Theorem]
= root(10000+10000)
= 100*root(2)m
= 141.4m (approx)
