On a straight road, a car starts from rest and accelerates at uniform rate of 6 ms^-2 for some time, then moves with constant speed for some time and retards at the same uniform rate and comes to rest. Total time for the journey is 24 s and average speed for journey is 20 ms^-1
How long does the car move with
constant speed ?

(a) initial velocity= 0m/s
     final velocity=?
     acceleration= 6 m/s
     time=24 s
     a =v-u/t
     6=o-v/24
     v= 24*6
       = 144m/s
(b)final velocity= 0m/s
    initial velocity=?
    acceleration=6m/s
    time= 24s
   a=v-u/t
   6=0-u/24
   u=24*6
    =144m/s

I'm not sure this is right. But I hope it helps you solve it further.
