On adding dil. HCL to a mixture of iron fillings and sulphur an orderless gas is produced. But a gas with rotten eggs is produced when the same acid is added to iron sulphide. Explain this difference by chemical equation

hydrogen gas is produced when hcl is added to mixture of iron and sulphur but when we add hcl to iron sulphate then sulphur is produced which smell like rotten egg
