On adding lime to the water the water starts boiling even when not being heated. Give reason.

Cause Cao being quick lime on adding to water forms slaked lime...and this is an exothermic reaction that evolves large amount of heat.So water somewhat starts to boil...


Cao+H2O---Ca(OH)2+ Heat
