2 perpendicular directions are independent to each other.....
since there is no force in X direction so there will not be any acceleration in X direction and hence velocity in X direction will remain constant.
In y direction,
applying F= ma
2=1.a
=> a= 2 m/s²
since acceleration is constant we can apply equations of motion
v= u + at
v = 0 + 2×4. { initial velocity in y 0 m/sec}
v= 8 m/s
so after 4 sec velocity of particle will be 8i + 8j m/sec
