Answer:

The British expansion in India came along with both Battles of Blood and Strategic Policies.

Starting from Battle of Plassey to taking over Punjab in 1849 the British spread its rule all over the Indian subcontinents.

The expansion was in three parts under the supervision of three different the Lords.

In 1797 lord Wellesley came to India while the Britain and France war in the middle of severe power struggle to become conspicuous.

In 1813 Lord Hastings who became the Governor General, under the new policy the Policy of Paramountcy he took control over the Maratha territory.

And from 1848-1857 Lord Dalhousie became the Governor General and continued with the expansionist policy to expand their territory in India over other larger territories.
