Explanation:

A shadow is the sun's reflection of a surface onto the ground, therefore, shadows cannot form at night because the sun is not in the sky to reflect on something. The sun shines directly through those transparent objects, so they have no shadow. Remember, shadows are formed when something blocks out a portion of light, and they form in the opposite direction of whatever is blocking that source. The phenomenon would be the total solar eclipse,  which is when the moon blocks all of the sun's rays for a few hours every few years.
