on beaches you may find fishermen drying up fishes, that is because they want to preserve the fishes for a long time so that they don't get spoiled.
The rays of the rays of the sun take out all the moisture from out and thus preventing microbial growth. Also sunlight kills the other harmful bacteria present on the fishes which helps to preserve fishes for a long period of time.
