On burning a piece of CHEMICAL a gas evolves how is it possoble to know whether the gas is acidic or basic....plzz answer correctly...dont answer of charcol its chemical gas

By just passing that gas through distilled water and after that treating it with the help of litmus solution or litmus paper we can identify it as acidic or basic.

bring a litmus paper near that as we know gas is formed of vapours and does litmus paper would show that gas is acidic or basic .
