On burning, both a piece of paper and cloth give the same smell . what is common in their origin ?​

Cotton is a material which is derived from the plants and papers are also made from the same resources. On the other hand wool or nylon are derived from the animals and therefore have the same smell. So cotton and papers are similar in nature but wool and nylon is completely different from cotton and papers.
