On crossing 2 heterogenous plants, both dominant and recessive characters are expressed because heterogenous plants contain both dominant and recessive characters and the dominant character is expressed. On crossing the ratio thus obtained as 3:1. In this 1out of 4 plants contains the recessive character.

The law involved is law of segregation because in this 2 allels are present in a heterozygous plant which seperates after gamete formation.
