Given :
On decreasing the price of mobiles by 22% ,the sales is increased by 12%.
To find :
The effect on money received by the trader
Solution :
Step 1 of 2 :
Calculate increase or decrease on money received by the trader
Let initially the price of mobiles was Rs. 100p and the sales was Rs. 100x
∴ Initially money received by the trader
= Rs. (100p × 100x)
= Rs. 10000px
After decreasing the price of mobiles by 22% the price of mobiles becomes Rs. 78p
Also after increasing the sales by 12% the sales becomes Rs. 112x
∴ Now The money received by the trader
= Rs. (78p × 112x)
= Rs. 8736px
Since 10000px > 8736px
So there is decrease on money received by the trader
Step 2 of 2 :
Calculate the percentage of decrease on money received by the trader
∴ Amount of decrease in money received by the trader
= Rs. (10000px - 8736px)
= Rs. 1264px
Hence the percentage of decrease on money received by the trader
