Solution :-

Given Polynomial :-

2x³ + ax² + 3x - 5

Given divisor :-

x - 1

Given reminder :-

= 7

Reminder Theorem :- When a specified value of x is putted in place of x in the given equation it results in numeric value which is the reminder of the given Polynomial.

Now by using reminder theorem :-

First we will make the devisor

x - 1 = 0

→ x = 1

Now we will Substitute the value of x = 1 in our polynomial

→ 2(1)³ + a(1)² + 3(1) - 5 = 7

→ 2 + a + 3 - 5 = 7

→ 5 - 5 + a = 7

→ a = 7

So value of a = 7
