 {y}^{3}  - 3 {y}^{2}  + 4y - 5 =  \\  {y}^{3}  - 2 {y}^{2}   -  {y}^{2}  + 2y + 2y - 4 - 1 =  \\  {y}^{2} (y - 2) - y(y - 2) + 2(y - 2) - 1 =  \\ (y - 2)( {y}^{2}  - y + 2) - 1

so Quotient = y² – y + 2

Reminder = –1
