Question

On electrolysis in acidic solution amino acids migrate towards cathode wle in alkaline solution these migrate towards anode. Why?

Amino acid exists as a dipolar ion.On electrolysis in acidic medium it changes to positive ion so it migrate towards cathode while on electrolysis in basic medium it changes to negative ion so it migrate towards anode.
