On heating a mixture of ammonium chloride , ammonium chloride will change into vapour because it is one octahedral the sublimate substance which on heating convert its solid state directly into gaseous state without changing the liquid state. This process is known as sublimation method.

When we heat the mixture of sodium chloride no effect occurs in it because it is not a sublimate substance. It is possible that sodium chloride changes it's colour but not it's state.
