gypsum-------CaSO₄·2H₂O

upon heating to 100°C, gysum loses 1\frac{1}{2} water and turns to "PLASTER OF PARIS" i.e. CaSO₄·\frac{1}{2}H₂O

if gypsum is heated further, it loses all its water and becomes dead burnt plaster
