Let "x" be the number of blankets started with

Half of the blanket are distributed in an old age house

Therefore,

$old\ age\ home = \frac{x}{2}$

$Remaining = x - \frac{x}{2} = \frac{x}{2}$

Three fourth of the remaining in orphanage

$Orphanage = \frac{3}{4} \times \frac{x}{2} = \frac{3x}{8}$

$Remaining = \frac{x}{2} - \frac{3x}{8}\\\\Remaining = \frac{x}{8}$

Rest 20 distributed to road side beggars

$\frac{x}{8} = 20\\\\x = 8 \times 20\\\\x = 160$
